James Samaritan

A nonprofit organization

We mobilize and equip local communities to meet the critical needs of our foster care and transitional youth, right where they are. We are creating a culture where our most invisible and vulnerable are better supported and empowered.

We offer 3 programs:

Life Network- a mentoring program for teens and young adults ages 16-21 in Independent Living and Extended Foster Care.

Royal Family Kids Camp & Club- is an overnight, life-changing camp experience for kids ages 7-12 in our  foster care system.  At each camp, two amazing campers are partnered with a trained, volunteer counselor whose only mission is to help create positive memories and affirm every child's God-given value.

Community Outreach- a multi-program resource for foster caregivers, children, and youth in our local foster care system. Underneath our Community Outreach Program we offer the following support opportunities: Homework Helpers Tutoring, Angel Tree, DCFS Urgent Needs Closet, Cutz and Kicks Back to School Event, & a Foster Parent Support Group.

Mission

We connect the community and church to create healthy support systems for at-risk youth and families. We empower the family unit to reduce the need for government intervention, by mobilizing and equipping local communities to meet the critical needs of our youth in foster care, right where they are. We desire to create a culture where our most invisible and vulnerable are better supported and empowered. A James Samaritan sees the needs of our children and families and responds.
