For more than 40 years, we’ve helped transform lives across our community—building over 800 homes and completing nearly 500 critical repairs. From disaster recovery after Hurricane Katrina to forward-looking developments like Rising Oaks, our work is rooted in resilience and long-term impact.
RISING OAKS:
Rising Oaks is our largest investment in the future of affordable homeownership in the Greater New Orleans area.
This 150-home community in Jefferson Parish will provide high-quality, affordable homes for working families and first-time homebuyers. Designed with resilience in mind, Rising Oaks features FORTIFIED Gold construction, green spaces, and access to nearby schools, healthcare, and jobs.
More than a development, Rising Oaks is a model for what equitable, sustainable housing can look like in our region.
"Habitat's Rising Oaks development offers the interconnected, effective solutions needed to address the lack of affordable housing for essential ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) workers in the region while providing access to quality health and critical services necessary for long-term prosperity." - Michael Williamson, United Way of Southeast Louisiana President & CEO
"Homeownership to me and my family, it's generational. It's an asset that you can pass on to those who after you, sons and daughters. It's a necessity" - Stanley B. NOAHH Homeowner
"I think it's one of the most important programs that exists for helping out local communities...it's been of immeasurable benefit to me" - James B. NOAHH Homeowner
To responsibly build communities where families can thrive, in homes they can afford.
