Gates Preschool is dedicated to nurturing the whole child—creating a dynamic, supportive environment where children grow emotionally, cognitively, and physically while building the confidence they need for lifelong success. Rooted in a rich history, Congregation Gates of Prayer, founded in 1850, has long been a cornerstone of the community. Since opening its doors in 1975, the Louise Manheim Gates Preschool has proudly served families of all backgrounds, fostering connection, curiosity, and belonging.
Now, we have an exciting opportunity to give back to our youngest learners in a meaningful way. Mission
Congregation Gates of Prayer is a robust and vibrant Reform Jewish Synagogue located in Metairie, Louisiana.
Our mission is to help members of all ages find Kedusha, or holiness within their lives, through worship, lifecycle events, educational and social programs, and social action that reflect our enduring commitment to Torah (lifelong Jewish education), Avodah (worship of God through prayer and observance), and Gemilut Chasadim (the pursuit of justice, peace, and deeds of loving-kindness).
The Louise Hayem Manheim Gates Preschool at Congregation Gates of Prayer provides children ages three months through five years with a stimulating, developmentally appropriate, and emotionally supportive learning environment informed by Jewish wisdom and the best progressive educational practice.
