College Track New Orleans

A nonprofit organization

Serving more than 620 scholars and alumni, College Track is the largest college completion program in New Orleans. Our scholars graduate at more than twice the rate of their first-generation peers, and go on to light the way for their families and communities.

Our uniquely comprehensive, 10-year program supports scholars from 9th grade to early career, beginning with weekly after-school programming that builds the academic, social-emotional, and career readiness skills needed to persist to and through college and into careers of purpose. College Track coaches continue to provide one-on-one guidance throughout their time in college, connecting scholars to campus resources, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities as they work towards their degree. Upon graduating, scholars enter a robust alumni network, where they can access mentorship, career guidance, and professional networking opportunities with alumni representing a wide range of industries and life stages. With coordinated support between College Track staff, local organizations, businesses, and university partners across the country, scholars have access to an ecosystem of support that has both local roots and national impact. College Track scholars earn degrees at 2.5x the rate of first-generation peers from similar backgrounds, and enter meaningful careers that build social mobility for themselves, their families, and their communities for generations to come.

Testimonials

"College Track has really shifted my perspective on higher education and how to get there. They have given me organization and structure to follow dreams and aspirations that I just didn't have before. I have been able to talk to people who were once in my shoes, being a person of color without any help on how to get to higher education. I will forever be grateful to College Track for giving me the opportunity that it has given me."
- Aniyanh, College Track New Orleans

“I have always been self-motivated and driven, but for students from my community, that is not enough. College Track provided me the tools to not only get to college, but graduate and pursue my passion. After medical school, I plan to move back to New Orleans, to fill the gap in the medical field that I saw growing up, and ensure that little Black girls have doctors and healthcare professionals who look like them.”
- Kaila, College Track New Orleans Alum

“Tulane was my first choice. It was close to home, but it also emphasized its involvement in the community. I wanted to get involved in that way...I made a lot of connections, and I’ve made a lot of great memories. It’s an experience I needed and definitely would have missed if I had not come to Tulane."
