Our non-profit was established to increase awareness of this life and quality-of-life saving therapy known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). After a discovery in Southeast Louisiana using HBOT to treat brain-injured Louisiana boxers and our offshore commercial and sport SCUBA divers with decompression sickness (the bends) of the brain we applied this treatment to patients with other types of "wounds" of the brain. In succession the first drowned children, children with cerebral palsy, autism, birth-injury, genetic disorders, and adults with a wide-range of diagnoses including Alzheimer's, traumatic brain injury, stroke, toxic brain injury, cardiac arrest, and more recently COVID Long-Hauler's Syndrome were able to see improvement for what was historically considered untreatable neurological disease. To assist with research studies we were performing and help fund treatment of patients who could not afford treatment we established the non-profit Hyperbaric Institute. Since its inception it has helped fund treatment of patients not covered by insurance and support studies on traumatic brain injury and drowned children.
Please see www.HBOT.com for numerous testimonials where HBOT was able to "give people back their lives."
The mission of The Hyperbaric Institute is to support hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) research, education, and treatment. We help families of patients with brain injuries and chronic diseases fund HBOT treatment, and raise awareness about their loved ones' circumstances. We also support scientific research into the benefits of HBOT's gene and stem cell stimulating properties to "give people back their lives." We seek to expand this therapy to maximize global health, well-being and longevity.
