Since 1983, we've provided essential services that have removed barriers, strengthened families, and promoted healing when children were in need of healthcare. We envision a world where every family has what they need to ensure the best health outcomes for their children.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Louisiana provides a "home away from home" to over 1286 caregivers and children annually who travel to receive specialized medical care for their seriously ill or injured child at nearby medical facilities.
At Ronald McDonald House New Orleans and our Ronald McDonald Family Room in Lafayette, families find comfortable and inviting nightly accommodations, private en-suites complete with full baths, free wi-fi, in room entertainment options, daily hot meals/snacks, ample secure on-site parking, full laundry facilities and complimentary supplies, in-house programming, and a built-in support system where families help one other.
We also provide an on site food pantry for families to utilize both in House and to "make groceries" when they head back home. In addition to these amenities, we offer personalized full service care with our dedicated Community Resources Specialist to guide families both while they are in our care and to assist them with their transition back to their own community, once they leave our House. We also bring our House to the halls of Manning Family Children's Hospital and Ochsner Main Campus with our Hospitality Carts.
In 2025 alone, families saved over $3.26 million by staying with us! To see more, visit our 2025 Annual Gratitude Report or our view our 2025 Impact Card below.
"People might not realize that when a child gets sick, it's hard on the whole family. Moms, dads, or grandparents like me have to leave their jobs, and with very little money and very few resources, come down to a city they've never been before and not knowing anyone here. But when you stay at the Ronald McDonald House, it makes things easier, and after a while, everyone calls you by name and asks, 'How's your baby?'
"Staying with the other people in our situation, it's a support group that's so much like a family. It's meant a lot, to me and the people we've had those experiences with at the House."
