Jefferson Performing Arts Society

Founded in 1978 by Maestro Dennis G. Assaf, the Jefferson Performing Arts Society is a nonprofit professional arts organization dedicated to performance, training, and outreach. For nearly five decades, we have entertained, educated, and enriched the cultural life of Jefferson Parish, Greater New Orleans, and the Gulf South.

Now, we’re stepping into an exciting new chapter.

This year, we are rebuilding and reimagining our Westwego Performing Arts Theatre in the historic Sala Avenue district—expanding our reach and creating more opportunities and experiences for local artists, students, and audiences across our entire community.
