Team Hambulance was born from a simple idea: bring healthcare professionals and the community together to make a meaningful difference. In the summer of 2024, what started as a late-night “crazy idea” from an emergency department physician—fueled by night shift delirium and a passion for barbecue—quickly turned into something much bigger.
Hambulance is a team made up of physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals from a variety of specialties who share a desire to connect with our community beyond the walls of the hospital. Through barbecue, teamwork, and fundraising, we aim to support children and families facing pediatric brain cancer while strengthening the bonds between caregivers and the people we serve.
Our team proudly competes in Hogs for the Cause, an event that has raised millions of dollars to support pediatric brain cancer patients and their families.
But Hambulance is about more than a single event. Our vision is to create a lasting organization that fosters camaraderie among healthcare workers, builds meaningful community partnerships, and raises critical funds for children and families who need it most.
