Climate Culture New Orleans

Climate Culture NOLA is a community-powered platform that uses art, culture, and collaboration to drive climate action and resilience in Southeast Louisiana.

Founded in 2024, Climate Culture brings together artists, environmental leaders, engineers, community organizations, and local businesses to co-create solutions to the urgent challenges facing our region: from coastal erosion and flooding to waste systems and extreme heat.

Through our core programming, the Climate Culture Salons, we transform cultural spaces into hubs for collaboration, where public art, performance, and hands-on workshops activate real conversations and real solutions. These gatherings serve as incubators for new ideas, partnerships, and projects that extend far beyond the event itself.

In our first year, Climate Culture has:

• Engaged over 2,000 community members
• Supported 60+ artists and cultural practitioners
• Partnered with 30+ organizations across arts, science, and environmental sectors
• Helped launch initiatives like Mardi Bar Wars, diverting over 40,000 pounds of glass into coastal restoration
• Incubated projects like Coast Create, advancing eco-material innovation for public art and habitat restoration

Climate Culture operates at the intersection of the cultural economy and climate resilience, creating pathways for artists to lead in environmental problem-solving while building cross-sector collaborations that can scale into funded, real-world projects.
